Tesher Bendros Smuggler Age twenty-seven, Tesher Bendros is a smuggler and occasional purveyor of black market goods. He lives on board the Old Betsy, a goods transport that saw its best days before he was even born, held together with duct tape and hope, with more shadowy niches and loose panels than a customs team could search in a week. He's generally laid back, and he has a knack for seeming just like a regular guy. Who would ever expect that in his secret past, he is nothing of the sort? Appearance: Medium height, medium build, tan skin, brown hair, brown eyes. Dresses in slightly scruffy generic blue-collar clothing. (+2 Deceit with disguise) MASTER OF DISGUISE "The character can convincingly pass himself off as nearly anyone with a little time and preparation. To use this ability, the player pays a fate point and temporarily stops playing. His character is presumed to have donned a disguise and gone "off camera". At any subsequent point during play the player may choose any nameless, filler character (a villain's minion, a bellboy in the hotel, the cop who just pulled you over) in a scene and reveal that that character is actually the PC in disguise!" IT TAKES ONE TO KNOW ONE Once you know the tricks and techniques used to pull off a good fake, you can easily recognize when someone else is using them. (Can use Deceit instead of Empathy to recognize if someone is masquerading as someone or something they're not.) OLD BETSY Old Betsy is an old goods transport that Tesher bought fourth-hand. It's big enough for three people to travel in comfortably, or twice that many uncomfortably. Even before he adapted it, it was riddled with crawlspaces, cubby holes and ill-fitting bulkheads. With his modifications, a full 30% of its cargo space is now undetectable by a casual observer. (+2 to hiding people or things when in the ship.) WALKING THE LEGAL TIGHTROPE Tesher lives in the grey areas of Imperial law, and more than once his success has relied on a deep personal familiarity with the complex and often self-contradictory code of inter-stellar regulations.
